CLIMATE-SMART AGRICULTURE: THE FUTURE OF FOOD SECURITY IN SOUTHEAST NIGERIA

Agriculture is still the predominant means of livelihood in Southeast Nigeria, but farmers are now increasingly experiencing the effects of climate change. Unpredictable rainfall patterns, prolonged dry spells, rising temperatures, declining soil fertility and land degradation are diminishing crop yields, threatening rural incomes and raising food prices across the country.
