🟢12a - Direct Method of Interpolation: Linear Interpolation

In this lesson, we shall be doing polynomial interpolation. Interpolation is a method that is used to derive a simple function from a given discrete data set that passes through the provided data points. In other words, interpolation is a method to construct new data points from the range of a given discrete data set of known data points. Extrapolation on the other hand has to do with obtaining or estimating y values that correspond to an x value that is outside the range of the provided data set. The direct method of interpolation is based on the theory that: Given n+1 data points, there is one and only one polynomial that passes through the provided data set. We shall solve an example of Linear Interpolation 00:00 - Interpolation and Extrapolation 03:58 - Direct Method of Interpolation 09:24 - Example of Linear Interpolation Playlists on various Courses 1.
