Walensee mit dem Happy Cat Neo: Warten auf Wind, Segeln am Limit

Waiting for the wind – and then it arrives. This sailing adventure on Lake Walen turned out a bit different from many of my other videos: calmer, darker, more angular. This time, the lake, the mountains, the light, and the wind don't reveal the cheerful postcard image of Switzerland, but rather a powerful, almost eerie beauty. Lake Walen is one of the most impressive lakes in Switzerland – and one of the more challenging sailing areas. The katabatic winds, in particular, can be treacherous. At the beginning, patience was key until the afternoon thermals had built up. After that, the lake showed what it was capable of. I was out on my Happy Cat Neo, waiting for the wind, enjoying the first few tacks – and ultimately deciding at the right moment to let go and return to the safety of shore. A tranquil, atmospheric sailing video about wind, water, mountains, and the right moment to call it quits. Enjoy my Lake Walen adventure. P.S.: Since I've been asked about this repeatedly: I clean my TIWAL or Happy Cat after EVERY sailing trip – regardless of whether it's on the Alpine lakes in Italy, Austria, France, or Switzerland, on the German lakes in the west, north, east, and south, in the North Sea or Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean, or the Adriatic. The quagga mussel, whose spread the Swiss authorities are struggling with so much, is just one of many invasive species that sailors can introduce to other waters through careless handling of their boats. Since I'm also concerned about the displacement of native life forms by invasive plants and animals here in the Black Forest, it's very important to me not to contribute to their spread myself! And I can only appeal to every other inflatable boat owner to do the same and thoroughly hose down their boats after use, at least once, to avoid unnecessarily supporting the spread of these invasive species. Then I urge every other inflatable boat owner to do the same and at least give their boats a thorough rinse with a garden hose after use, so as not to unnecessarily support the spread of these invasive species. ... #Sailing #LakeWalensee #HappyCat
