Touhou 氷精武勇録 ～ Record of Ice Fairy War - Mission 3 No-Bomb Clear

Record of Ice Fairy War is a Touhou fangame based on the 12.8th entry in the Touhou series; Great Fairy Wars. It sports the same danmaku freezing gameplay as well as starring Cirno. The game has three main modes, divided into three missions. Mission 3 is basically the Extra stage and is easily the best part of the package. This stage can be interpreted as a Phantasm stage to Great Fairy Wars. Out of the hundreds of Touhou fangames, this is still the only game that's based on Fairy Wars as far as I know. Which is a real shame, as Fairy Wars is easily one of the best games ZUN ever made. The freezing mechanic is innovative and fun, and something I would like to see more of as well as expanded on. This game is a bit of a swing and a miss though. The design of the main scenario's is pretty jank and the mechanics are a bit buggy, especially the hitboxes. All the hitboxes are like misaligned and your own hitbox is HUGE. Beggars can't be choosers I guess though. So practice mode does seem to exist in this, but you can only access it after beating every mission and then only after entering a secret code??? Besides that there is also a unique function to turn replay files into images and back, so you can post those images on Twitter and then people can download those images and turn them into replays. Wild stuff. No-damage clear seems quite hard in this with all the motivation draining barriers.
