06 Galgoczi Adam: Use of Neuro-hydrotherapy for CMT patients english

The use of Neuro-hydrotherapy for CMT patients. Neuro-hydrotherapy (NHT), developed by Dr. Judit Schultheisz and colleagues of the Gézengúz Foundation, is the first medical, science-based complex hydrotherapy procedure in the field of pediatric rehabilitation in Hungary since its introduction in 1986. NHT is a multidisciplinary procedure based on a neuro-vascular and somatosensory approach, with an analytical approach and a multidisciplinary approach, in which the effect of the therapy in a special medium is based on a special corrective grip system. In the case of CMT disease, our therapeutic goals - with a different focus in individual development - are to improve muscle function, prepare the body to carry its own weight, prevent contracture, promote joint freedom of movement and prevent compensatory patterns, and reduce those that have already developed where possible. Particular attention is given to the prevention of scoliosis, which is even more pronounced in the context of possible wheelchair use.
