Hike to Wheeler Peak // New Mexico's Tallest Mountain

In this video we take you on a journey to the top of New Mexico's highest mountain, Wheeler Peak. Located northeast of Taos, Wheeler Peak tops out at 13,161 feet above sea level. It rests in the Rocky Mountains southernmost subrange, the Sangre De Cristos. The 8.2 mile roundtrip hike took us over 6 hours and while the trail was not technical, the steepness in some sections and the high elevation made it a challenge for us. What a rewarding experience it was.
