New Balance Beacon - After 100 Miles

After today's beautifully balmy weather run in Chicago, I crossed the 100 mile mark in the #NewBalance #Beacon . This has quickly become one of my favorite running shoes of 2018. The only thing I would have changed about this shoe is that I wish I would have gotten to it sooner (also, I wish I would have gotten it in black instead of the blue color that I picked up on a Black Friday sale). I've been able to run in the Beacon in a variety of distances from 6 miles to a half marathon and from paces ranging from recovery run to half marathon race pace. And the beauty of this very light shoe is that it works just as well at all of those paces and distances. Ultimately, I think the sweet spot for this shoe is a moderate or slightly quicker run at about 8 miles, as the shoe seems to like being a bit more on the toes while still also feeling great as the miles add up. The only issue that I had with the shoe is with the insole. I ended up having to spray some spray adhesive on the bottom to glue it down, as it kept on sliding all around like crazy, no matter what I did. Thanks for watching!
