Spoken in Waves - Cello & String Quartet by Chris Beroes-Haigis
SHEET MUSIC: https://chrisberoeshaigis.bandcamp.co... Recording Spoken in Waves was an incredible journey spanning years! The planning and preparation involved was nothing like I had ever done before, and I almost still can't believe we did it. It was a sweltering evening in a Berlin dance studio with seven artists present and one on video chat the entire session. Almost 30 flights of stairs climbed loading and unloading gear, lots of laughs, a few tears, lots of sweat, and two bottles of celebratory champagne later, I am so proud to bring my newest commission to you. :) I have so many people to thank for their help in bringing this project to life! Chris, my intrepid composer and dear friend, thank you for writing such a phenomenal piece for me. I truly don’t have the words to express my gratitude and how much commissioning new works means to me as an artist and human. You have given the world a gift, my friend!! And of course, after the writing was done, there was an insane amount of work to get it out into the world, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in crime. Your infinite patience, support, and tenacity were vital to the success of this behemoth of a project. We did it!! To my fabulous performers, Louisa, Sijun, Annie, and Miguel, you are rockstars!! Thank you for bringing your time, talents and artistry to this project. It truly would not be what it is without you. To my brilliant production team, Alex, Tim and Anastasiia, your skills and talents are so valued and appreciated. Thank you for helping take everything to the next level. Tim especially, thank you for your patience and expertise while we edited our hearts out. And of course, none of this would have been possible without the incredible generosity of our Indiegogo supporters. A million thank you's to the wonderful souls who believed in our mission: Andrew Janss, Anne Dwoskin, Ben Zervigon, JT Hassell, Carl Passal, Ernie Carbajal, Frances Brent, Gero Schmidt, Hannah Holthaus, Isa Najem, Jack Haigis, Jacob Lane, Jane Beatty, Janet Cubey, Jeanne Jaubert, Jens Peter Maintz, Jinty McTavish, John-Henry Crawford, John C. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!!!
