Scarborough Fair (Eric Crees) - Bon-Accord Silver Band
This recording is from the Bon-Accord Silver Band's contest performance at the Northern Counties Open Championships from 2016, conducted by Stephen Malcolm. The band won the contest with 90 points. We also won Best Percussion, Best Soprano (Craig Beattie), Best Soloist (Mark Boyd) and Winning Conductor (Stephen Malcolm) Scarborough Fair This haunting melody, popularised by Simon and Garfunkel is here given an imaginative treatment in a popular idiom. The kernel of the arrangement is based on a track from the early 70s ground-breaking album featuring sixteen trombones Bones Galore. Eric Crees has expanded and re-scored Pete Smith's original to make a sure fire brass band crowd-pleaser The venue is the Loch Leven Community Campus, Kinross.
