The Cycling Community Has a Problem

I watched The Watt Life's recent video about his crash at the Etape Loch Ness and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Not the crash itself — these things happen. What I can't get past is what came next. The riders who left. The cyclists who rode past without stopping. The people who shouted "are you okay?" at 30 kilometres an hour and called that a check. This video is my response. It's not about attacking anyone. It's about asking whether we, as a cycling community, are actually looking out for each other — and what that should look like when someone goes down. I've also had some experience of this myself. From a crash at the North London Dirt Ride this weekend, to strangers who stopped for me when I didn't even need help. That's the standard I thought we all held ourselves to.
