Clémence de Grandval (1828-1907) was a prolific composer in her lifetime and published a multitude of compositions under a number of pseudonyms. She studied composition with Frédéric Chopin and Camille Saint-Saëns, and was a major figure in the Société Nationale de Musique, where her works received more performances than any other composer of the time. Her interest in contemporary clarinet repertoire stems from a background experience in wind ensemble and orchestral playing. After completing her undergraduate BMus at Sheffield University, her playing has been shaped by the varying musical influences she has encountered and now she is part of many performance projects that take inspiration from Hindustani Classical Music, Global Folk and minimalist music. Christina graduated from the University of Glasgow with first class honours BMus degree. She is currently studying MMus Piano Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and has been awarded a scholarship by Trinity College of Music. Sebastian is a UK-based studio musician specialising in music production, sound design and audio editing. He studied undergraduate and masters degrees in music in the NOVARS Research Centre at the University of Manchester. He is now working on a variety of solo and collaborative arts projects, with a particular interest in experimental music and sound design within the fields of theatre, film and video games.
