He started by releasing mixtapes with the help of fellow West Coast rapper JT the Bigga Figga. His first independent album, Untold Story, came out in 2004. Later, record producer Dr. Dre discovered him and signed him to Aftermath Records label. The Game became famous in 2005 with his major-label debut album The Documentary, which topped the Billboard 200 chart. His next album, Doctor's Advocate, released in 2006, also did well. The Documentary album got double platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and received two Grammy nominations for its single "Hate It or Love It" featuring 50 Cent.
