3-layer PET thermoforming sheet extrusion line

Food packaging is a growth trend worldwide. A lot of food packaging is made of PET, thanks to its transparency. battenfeld-cincinnati developed a line of extruders particularly for PET extrusion, the STARextruder series. This video shows a 3-layer sheet production line from a 2010 Open House, with a STARextruder as main extruder, a single screw extruder as co-extruder and a 3-roller roll stack. The thermoforming sheet had an inner layer of 100 % PET bottle regenerate and outer layers extruded from virgin PET. The STARextruder has received a letter of non-objection for food-grade thermoforming sheet production in November 2017.
