RRA 20 | ^AltitudeOfTheMonarch

Part 20 of the Rec Room Archives - my attempt to catalogue my work I created in Rec Room before it's shutdown. ----------------------- ^AltitudeOfTheMonarch might be the most I've really pushed the boundaries of custom quests (which isn't saying a whole lot, but still). I tried so many out-there things with this project: melee-only combat, randomized layouts, moving bosses, a chest system, upgrades, etc. I think there's a lot of missed potential here, especially with the Monarch's fight, but I'm still really happy with where it stood at the time of Rec Room's shutdown. Quite a few additions were planned for Altitude, including two separate sets of secret levels (one found behind the locked door in Grand Hall and the other behind the secret door in Credits) and secret bosses (a crab-robot piloted by a chef that flung parryable pans at you, and a dummy transformed into a huge spider monster by an orb shard). Tutor-Pail was also going to get her own boss battle, with a mech suit she'd pilot and be based around parrying, that would dynamically follow the nearest player. (It was going to be super cool, trust) And, the custom costumes - which would be automatically equipped to each player in every subroom after bought with chigs and selected in the lobby, with costumes made by Fuzzpope Rec Room (Fuzz). Three were made and the system was in the works, and let me tell you, they were incredibly cool looking. Even with all the things about this quest I regret and think are pretty poorly thought-out, it seems that quite a lot of people really enjoyed it and replayed it quite a lot. It's easily some of my best work, and I'm glad I pushed my boundaries so far off the ground.
