Inspired by the movie Suzume, where the main character starts her journey from Kyushu, travels across Shikoku, passes through Awaji Island, and ends in Kobe—we, a couple who can barely speak English or Japanese, decided to follow in her footsteps on a real-life journey! Although Kumamoto doesn’t appear in the movie, we chose it as our starting point and made it the opening chapter of our adventure.
