One Maple Log… One HUGE 17' Carrier Beam!

This maple log almost milled itself! In this video I put the Frontier sawmill to work turning another maple log into a HUGE 5.5" x 10" x 17' long carrier timber for a pavilion roof project. There’s plenty of sawmill action, heavy timber handling, and the challenge of producing a long structural beam from a single log. Watching a big maple come apart into usable timber never gets old, and this one cut smooth from start to finish! Would you use maple for a carrier beam?
