K.W.S. – “Please Don’t Go” (instrumental) (Next Plateau) 1992
Written by Howie Casey and Richard Finch. Produced by Chris King and Winston Williams. Instrumental revival of a ballad hit for KC & The Sunshine Band in 1979. It was the group’s fifth #1 hit. K.W.S. hailed from Nottingham, UK and comprised three members, Chris King, Winston Williams and Delroy St Joseph. “Please Don’t Go” was their first recording and they returned the song to the top of the charts, when it landed at #6 on the Hot-100 and #1 in the UK. They followed it up with another Casey-Finch song, “Rock Your Baby”, a #1 worldwide hit for George McCrae in 1974. This 12 inch US release on Next Plateau features three mixes of the title and this instrumental version.
