SL大樹の別名「土津」が会津鉄道をなんと！52年ぶりに走りました

The SL Taiju steam locomotive ran on the Aizu Railway in Aizu, Fukushima Prefecture, for the first time in 52 years! This was the first time the SL had run on this line since its last run on the former JNR Aizu Line in 1974. This time, it ran from Shimo-Imaichi Station on the Tobu Railway in Tochigi Prefecture, along the Yagan Railway, and then on the Aizu Railway's Aizu-Wakamatsu Station section, making a round trip over two days, June 27th and 28th. This operation was realized through the collaboration of four companies: the "SL Taiju and Other Tourist Train Operation Promotion Council," established by the municipalities along the line to revitalize the Aizu area; Tobu Railway, which operates the train; JR East, which is running the "Fukushima Destination Campaign"; Yagan Railway; and Aizu Railway. (For more detailed information, please see the URL below ⇩) I went to see the SL Taiju (from Tsuchitsu) from Tajima, Minami-Aizu Town, Oku-Aizu. At the farewell, a miracle happened for Jun-chan, who couldn't secure a good spot to take pictures due to the sheer number of railway fans! On the same day, the 27th, the Tadami Line also ran the sightseeing train SATONO as part of the "Fukushima Prefecture 150th Anniversary & DC Special Project / Popular SATONO Chartered Service!" We welcomed the SATONO from Tadami Station on the JR Tadami Line in Okuaizu Tadami Town.
