[Learn rhythm from the basics!] Beginner's materials are here! https://note.com/bassbassbase/n/nb3c6... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone! Nice to meet you if you're new here! Thank you to everyone who has always supported me! I'm bassist Tetsuo Morita! Some of you may already know me, but I've been teaching bass and music to many people with the desire to convey its essence. The people who come to my lessons are diverse. Of course, there are those who aspire to become professionals, but there are also those who have been playing as a hobby for years and have hit a wall and want to improve, as well as many beginners who are just starting out. The age range is also diverse, from elementary school students to people in their 80s. And almost all of them have mastered the essentials of music and are definitely getting better! As I talk about in the main video, by "essentially," I mean: Never use TAB notation, which can make you think you can do it just superficially. Don't just play the rhythm vaguely, but be able to play what's written on the sheet music without audio, and be able to specifically understand (and write down) the rhythm you're playing. The rock, pop, and jazz that many people play are classified as popular music, and ultimately, you'll be able to play freely using chord notation, rather than just notes! That's it! It may seem difficult at first glance, but unlike TAB notation, you'll learn the essentials of music, so there are many similarities between songs, and the more you learn, the more you'll be able to play all songs with "the exact same perspective," which will speed up the process of learning to play and give you more peace of mind when you're playing. And the process of mastering this is broken down in an easy-to-understand way! Looking at the current situation in the world, this way of thinking is surprisingly unknown. Or, I feel like there are many people who practice for a few years, realize it, but find it too difficult and go back to the original tabs. Until now, I've mostly taught in-person lessons, but I wanted more people to know about it and learn, so I decided to start uploading videos! I'm sure I'm still unfamiliar with it and there are many parts that are lacking, but I hope you'll enjoy it. Oh! Of course, I also offer private lessons (in Tokyo) and online lessons, so if you're interested, please come along! Thank you for watching! Bassist: Tetsuo Morita #JacoPastorius #ExtremelyDifficultPractice #Cello Profile: Tetsuo Morita Electric bass, double bass player, composer and arranger. He studied electric bass with Lincoln Goines, Weather Report's second bassist Alphonso Johnson, and Noboru Kuroishi, among others, and double bass with Ron Carter, Gerald Cannon, Charnett Moffett, and Jun Suzuki. He also studied the essence of music and jazz with Japan's super guitarist Kojiro Iwatani. He is currently active in Tokyo and performing live and recording in a wide range of genres, including jazz, fusion, pop, R&B, funk, Latin, and African music. He has performed with many artists, including Eric Miyashiro, Kojiro Iwatani, Michael Davis, Trevor Mires (Incognito), Jim Butler, Dennis Lambert, Masaaki Ikeda, and Masaki Domoto. He also traveled to New York, where he has used his experience both in Japan and abroad, studying and performing there, to mentor others. His experience has led him to believe that anyone can inherently master music, and he puts this into practice in his lessons. Furthermore, he loves jazz, and rejects the idea that jazz can only be mastered by those who have mastered a variety of other genres. He has created instructional methods that make jazz more accessible to those who play it, and has trained many musicians to date. He also offers lessons in bass, jazz improvisation, and jazz theory.
