Armement : la France sous-équipée ?

Between the threat of war on the European continent and the conflict in the Middle East, France faces numerous military challenges in terms of weaponry. Sébastien Lecornu has announced an €8.5 billion increase in the 2026 defense budget. Emmanuel Macron, for his part, wants European manufacturers to work together, for example on the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) project. Donald Trump's repeated threats of a US withdrawal from NATO are forcing European leaders to consider their defense without the support of their historical ally. Does France have the means to defend itself if a new conflict breaks out? How can we increase our ammunition stockpiles? What is the current state of European defense? We'll be discussing this with Joséphine Staron, PhD in philosophy, geopolitics expert and author of "Europe: Solidarity Against Shipwreck" (Synopia Editions); Alain Pirot, documentary journalist specializing in defense issues; Jean-Marc Vayssouze-Faure, Socialist Party senator for Lot, secretary of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces Committee; and, via video link, Philippe Mills, CEO of the public bank Sfil, a subsidiary of the Caisse des Dépôts. 🔴 To stay up-to-date on all political and parliamentary news, subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/publicse... 👉 Our website: http://www.publicsenat.fr ▶️ Watch all our replays: https://www.publicsenat.fr/replay 📬 Subscribe to our newsletter: https://bit.ly/NewslettersPublicSenat 🚀 Follow us on social media: Facebook:   / publicsenat   X:   / publicsenat   Instagram:   / publicsenat   LinkedIn:   / 2996809   Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/publicsenat.fr Threads: https://www.threads.net/@publicsenat TikTok:   / publicsenat
