Prabhat Banerji, son of Late Sangeet Shastri Nilratan Banerji displayed his musical prowess from an early age. At the tender age of 8, Prabhat received immense encouragement and praise for his Khayal rendition from the legendary Bhishmadev Chatterjee. He completed Sangeet Prabhakar from Allahabad University & M.A.in music from Rabindra Bharati University. He also got the opportunity to perform along with his Guru Pt. Chinmoy Lahiri for which he was praised immensely. In his book Magan Geet O Taan Manjari, Pt. Chinmoy Lahiri acknowledged the efforts of Prabhat Banerji in the proof reading and editing of the book which had a wide circulation in India and abroad as well. He mentioned that Prabhat was one of his most talented students and was happy to see that the future of music was very bright in such capable hands.
