Omega Wave by Forbidden Full Band FC #5937

This is the first newly FBFCed non-2x song since Chasing the Light fell nearly three years ago. Even longer ago than that was the time that another lineup got a Full Band 100% OS, so this song specifically has been a long time coming. What took so long? Well, undeniably a big part of that is the inertia involved with only having sub-20 RBN left to FBFC, but even if this was the most provably doable song remaining, I mean, look at how annoying this shit is! The fake-BRE on drums is a poorly quantized crapshoot, and that's just the entry fee for a Run. There's still the whole-ass guitar solo, chocked full of trill lane transitions and the biggest FC bottleneck with Solo C: A stupidly fast, 20NPS mess of a pattern that's full of breaks and very awkward to avoid ghosting notes during. Even getting past all that, there have been multiple runs lost to the back half of the solo, the awkward as hell doublet strumming in every chorus, and even the very last second on drums. The fact that we did pull through to redeem this FBFC speaks volumes about the patience and tenacity of everyone involved. -Nick I've come to notice the surprising amount of RBN metal that was just then-recent material from acts that were active since the 90s, to varying degrees of quality. As I see it, some of them were really great (Cynic, Devin Townsend), some were okay but they were never gonna hold a candle to the classics (Atheist, Rotting Christ), and some...kind of suck, honestly (Morbid Angel). This is more towards the first category, thankfully. I'm not exactly a Forbidden diehard but 1990's Twisted Into Form was a really good thrash record that I recommend if you're into that sort of thing, and twenty years later the band clearly still had the chops to make something around the same level of quality. This chart, it's...well, it's a lot, as suffered through and summarized by my good compatriots here. Incredible thanks and flowers to everyone who lent their services to killing this song, both past and present. Oh, and of course welcome Blu to the team, I'm quite excited to see what else we can do going forward. -Lyla To put it lightly, this is actually just absurd. 3 days of constant effort, patience and persistence to get a brand new fresh out the oven RBN 1x fub, for the first time in 2 years. Might I add, it's even crazier how this song went undone for 15 YEARS... I know a lot of these peeps around me have been in many "official and non-custom" fubs that weren't previously done before, but for me, it's new territory being reached. No better team that I'd rather do this with once again, than these marvelous people to keep my spirits up after 2 very devastating outro chokes towards the last like 10 notes of the song. With that said, to the people who I attempted this with, Zay, Nick, Lyla, Boddy, I appreciate y'all so much sitting through for us to kill the wave once and for all. I just can't stress that out enough on a very genuine level. 🫡💙 Oh yeah, one more thing. Because this accomplishment is not just for myself, not just for this team, but for OUR community, here's my reaction to when we made history in all it's glory.
