"Dropping like flies": Hundreds of Canadians fall ill at Mexican resort
A dream vacation for hundreds of Canadians turned into a nightmare after many fell ill. Okanagan resident Alyssa Stothart and her extended family of 14 people planned a trip to Sandos Playacar, about 75 km south of Cancun in Mexico, to celebrate her mom’s 60th birthday. She told Global News that everyone was healthy when they arrived, but after two or three days people started falling ill.
