【衣崎潮干狩り】アサリ0の異変…それでもハマグリで袋満杯！

Day 3 of the season at Kinazaki: To my surprise, I caught zero clams… However, after shifting my focus entirely to cockles, I ended up with a massive haul of high-quality cockles. This time, I conducted a field test on the third day of the season at the Kinazaki Shellfish Gathering Site in Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture. (April 4, 2026) Normally, this would be a time when I’d have high hopes for clams, but conditions were quite tough this time around. Even when searching in shallow areas, I couldn’t find any clams at all; when I did find any, they were mostly large shells or scattered juvenile clams. This is the first time I’ve ever experienced such a lack of clams on the third day of the season at Kinazaki. On top of that, there were strong winds that day, and heavy rain starting around 2:00 PM. The conditions were far from ideal. So, I decided to switch gears and focus entirely on catching hamaguri. I carefully searched slightly deeper waters, focusing on larger sizes, and to my surprise, I hit the jackpot. High-quality clams kept coming out one after another, and in the end, my bag was completely full of them. In this video, I share the on-site conditions where clams were scarce, the decision to switch to targeting clams, and the actual harvest results, all based on footage from the location.
