«How Europe can survive the Asian century?» from Jonathan Holslag

Prof. Jonathan Holslag is co-founder of the Brussels Institute of Contemporary China Studies, a lecturer on international relations at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and an author of many books and research papers. Prof. Holslag is one of the most prominent specialists in Asian affairs in Europe and a rising star in the field of geopolitics. His two latest books, China and India: Prospects for Peace (Columbia University Press, 2010) and Trapped Giant (IISS and Routledge, 2011), were widely reviewed discussed. In addition, he has advised various European member states and the UN Human Rights Council. In 2011, he was invited by the European Parliament to provide advise on China’s economic transition. Prof. Holslag maintains relations with politicians, high ranking civil servants and prominent researchers from across the globe. He has appeared frequently in globally recognised media and is frequently sollicited as an opinion leader in international discussion forums.
