[Race Commentary] A shocking outcome! Fusaichi Pandora (3-year-old filly, Toshiaki Shirai), the 7th favorite to win, advances to her first GI victory. The winner was Fusaichi Pandora, a horse that has suffered many disappointments in the past, including a second place finish in the Oaks and a third place finish in the Shuka Sho. The race escalated into a fierce battle just before the finish line, with Kawakami Princess breaking away from the middle in a spectacular fashion, and it looked as though she'd achieved her sixth consecutive undefeated victory. However, after a lengthy deliberation, the lights went out and Kawakami Princess was demoted to 12th place for obstructing the path of another horse at the entrance to the straight. As a result, Fusaichi Pandora, who crossed the finish line in second place, was crowned queen of the race. Although Fusaichi Pandora was a default winner, she still showed all her potential, shutting out the formidable older horses. She started moving earlier than the top favorites, and even though she ran on the outside of the pack, she never gave up until the end, showing an impressive race.
