But, within biblical tradition, the door represents much more: it is the boundary between what enters, what leaves, and what remains inside a home. In this video, Rabbi David Solomon presents an ancient practice related to Psalm 67, traditionally written in the form of a seven-branched menorah and placed at the entrance of the home as a symbol of Parnassa (livelihood), protection, guidance, and purposeful provision. Psalm 67 contains a structure associated with the number seven: seven lines, seven branches, and forty-nine words in its traditional Hebrew form. Each part represents the journey of the blessing from its spiritual origin to its practical manifestation within the home. We will also reflect on the meaning of marking the door, remembering that, since the Exodus, the threshold of the home appears as a place of identity, protection, and decision. The door thus becomes a daily reminder: this house is not meant to be merely a place through which money passes, but a vessel prepared to receive, organize, and preserve. The lesson doesn't end with posting a psalm.
