Film Reviewer Angers The Spider-Man Community

The Marvellous Misadventures of The Movie Critic: TrollsBandTogetherFan2001 is one of the most interesting movies this decade has provided. The plot tells the story of a lonely film critic who decides to arm himself with a ton of will, to go up against the greatest movie of this current decade based on the Spider-Man IP (Across the Spider-Verse). Utilizing methods already established by his idol (James Rolfe), our main character manages to convey his annoyance and disregard for this movie. While the movie may not have had any crazy fighting scenes, it did have the charm of a movie review from the early days of YouTube, a detail usually ignored by this film's detractors. The critical reception was mostly negative due to the subject matter of the film. Under-age Spider-Man fan as well as hyper-sensitive internet soyboys united to diss and condemn the movie for it's remarks. From my point of view, this movie's experience was mildly positive. The name was quite clumsy, and a bit childish. The editing was minimal as expected from a movie that emulates early YouTube reviews (likely by accident). The humor needs a bit of working, both in the way it is written and the way the main characters expresses it. However even with all of these minor annoyances, I don't feel like they hindered the few moments of edgy humor that were done right. I can confirm that the few edgy moments which occured in this 15 minute emotional rollercoaster, put a smile on my face. Overall, if I had to recommend this motion picture to a specific crowd, then I would recommend it for the people that feel nostalgic for the Broadcasting Yourself era of YouTube, as well as people who are into binge watching something mildly edgy.
