FULL: Trump hints at new US strikes on Iran as ceasefire appears to collapse during NATO summit

President Donald Trump suggested the U.S. military could carry out retaliatory strikes against Iran again Wednesday night, signaling the ceasefire deal between the two countries has broken down. Trump made the comments as he ended a NATO summit in Turkey, declaring that the memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran — the document intended to end the fighting — is finished. “They're scum, they're sick people. They're led by sick people, and they're vicious, violent people, and if they had a nuclear weapon, they'd use it. As far as I'm concerned, it's over,” Trump said. The U.S. says Iran attacked commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, violating the truce. The U.S. military retaliated by striking Iranian targets in the area. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte backed the U.S. response.
