Editor Jennifer Barbot Talks Working on Spider-Noir (Color) - Interview

I recently spoke with editor Jennifer Barbot about "Spider-Noir," now streaming on Prime Video. The conversation added another connection to my ever-expanding circle of one degree of separation from Nicolas Cage, who stars as The Spider in the series. Among the highlights was Barbot's story about taking her son to visit one of the show's filming locations. The experience culminated in an interaction with Cage that remains a priceless family memory. Barbot is a film and television editor whose recent credits also include the series finale of "Lucky," starring Anya Taylor-Joy. Her editing work also includes "Dope Thief", "Your Honor", "Raised by Wolves" and "The Man in the High Castle." A graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a background in journalism, Barbot began her career producing and editing documentaries for PBS while in college. She later taught film editing in the MFA program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia in Singapore and at NYU Abu Dhabi. Barbot is proud of her Cuban and French heritage and is fluent in Spanish and French. She is a member of American Cinema Editors and supports efforts to foster diversity within the organization and throughout the entertainment industry. Passionate about storytelling, Barbot has built a career bringing stories to life on both the big and small screen. She hopes to one day edit a project in Spanish or French.
