YouTube's Out of Touch Reality Show

Get a shirt! https://strugglrshop.com Today we're taking a looksie at YouTube's 2012 reality competition show "Internet Icon", starring Ryan Higa, Chester See, Christine Lakin, and a bunch of guest cameos from other YouTubers. The premise of the show was for contestants to make a video every day under a time constraint while following certain guidelines. I'm not sure if the show did a very good job of showing what it actually takes to become a star on YouTube, and I'm not sure that they necessarily found the most talented people to compete, but it was still pretty fun to watch. Admittedly, I may have been a little too hard on the show in this video. Early on, it was easy to find things to poke fun at and make jokes about. But as I kept watching, I was brought back to my teenage years and the feelings of inspiration and drive that this show gave me 8 years ago. It got harder and harder to goof on because I was actually enjoying the experience. But at that point I had already put like 15-20 hours of work into this video so I figured I could still make SOMETHING out of it. I hope it doesn't feel too cynical. I also understand why Andy was such a Grinch the whole time - he was the executive producer and had money on the line. I would probably be stressed and grumpy too. And Christine, although fairly out of touch with YouTube, DID do her best at critiquing and trying to help the contestants improve.
