He waded alone into the flooded green timber along the Cache River before legal light on December 9th, 2024, with a chest-mounted action camera running the way it always was. He blew his first call into the dark. Something answered. By the time the recording ends, the thing in the timber was using his voice, his cadence, and words he had thought but never said out loud. His truck was found at the gravel pull-off two days later. The camera turned up eleven days into the search, wedged upright in a cypress knee, lens pointing back the way he had come.
