April 26th marked the anniversary of the horrific accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. This man-made disaster wreaked havoc, causing enormous damage to the environment, people, and the country. The response to the disaster required the mobilization of many resources, including the best minds who developed the equipment needed to mitigate the consequences of the accident.
