(#95) Dramatic Changes From Stone Wall Repointing

Repointing the walls on the entrance side to transform their look, plus work on the window edges to prepare them for their final finish. Working around some awkward positions and in hot sun, we fill in all the stone wall joints with lime mortar. This wall has undergone many changes over the years and the stones and surface vary considerably, but the mortar work has started to create a uniform look for the first time. Including the initial work on the unusual curve. - - - - chapters - - - - 00:00 intro 00:35 initial work 02:58 walls & window 05:26 visit & brushing 07:16 morning 2 09:10 white admiral 11:27 wall top 14:25 home alone 16:25 cleaning tests 19:13 morning 4 21:05 wall top 2 23:04 buttress 25:49 late session 28:19 Friday morning 30:37 final work 32:48 outro - - - - about my channel and its videos - - - - My channel is about the renovation and restoration of an old stone house on a hill in Catalunya (North East of Spain). The house is near the Costa Brava and has magnificent views of the forest around it and the Mediterranean Sea. The house has many beautiful old features, including its stone walls, vaulted ceilings, ancient terracotta tiles and many quirky parts added over the centuries. For a lot of the time I am working on the house on my own as I try to turn it into a dream home in harmony with the nature and culture that surrounds it. But for bigger phases of work I am helped by a small team of local builders. The house is not in France or Italy and is not a Chateau or Cabin, but I watch and am inspired by channels that are. Especially Martijn Doolaard and Dan Preston's Escape to Rural France. I love Martijn's style, philosophy and cinematography and Dan's energy, humour and ambition. I'm trying to include some of these attributes in my videos.
