This is our fourth video on beautiful Cannon Hill Park. This Park is in South Birmingham, next to Edgbaston Cricket Ground. This park has two lakes and a river passing along it. In this video we have explored a bit this river. The River Rea (pronounced "ray") is a small river which passes through Birmingham. It has recorded history of about 1300 years. It starts in the hills of a nearby city called Worcester. This river is one of the 3 rivers passing through Birmingham. The other two rivers are River Cole and River Tame. Many Storm drains and Rain drains empty in the river rea. It is now culverted for much of its course through Birmingham. This river is about 14 miles (23 kilometres) long. It merges with the River Tame under Spaghetti Junction in Birmingham and thus carries on towards North Sea. When looking upstream from the bridge, Birmingham City Centre is on the back, Cannon Hill Park is on the left, Wild life reserve, Scouts Memorial and Police Training Centre called Tally Ho Police Training Centre are on the right. There are long walking and jogging tracks in the park, also, lots of nature around, such as trees, shrubs, flowers, birds, ducks, doves, pigeons, gulls and many more. People come here for all sorts of recreational activities such as walking, exercising, cycling, playing, partying, picnic etc. There are plenty of attractions for children as well. Midlands Art Centre (MAC), Mini Golf Course, Tennis Courts, Football pitch, and boating facility makes this park one of the best in the country.
