Full Route Visual | London Bus Route 487 - Willesden Junction to South Harrow Stn | (VW1289) LK12APF

The 487 is a local route of mine that is operated by Metroline West using SD Volvo BZL's from Willesden Junction [WJ] Garage. The route runs from Willesden Junction, Harlesden, Central Middlesex Hospital, Park Royal, North Acton, Park Royal (again lol), Hanger Lane, Alperton, Sudbury Town, North Greenford, Northolt & South Harrow. From a young age, I remember the route having a few Ex-First G2 B9TL double deckers on the route which I often enjoyed going on when the route was at Alperton [ON] Garage. But after 2021, the DD runs just vanished with little to no few runs from when [WJ] took it. This became a big concern for me - not just as a bus enthusiast, but as a frequent commuter. The route also suffers with frequent overcrowding. Most times (both early morning and early night) I'm left squeezing inside the bus and often skipped - especially around Sudbury Town. Especially during the tube strikes, the route struggled significantly as it passes through most Piccadilly line stations. But despite of all of this, there has been good news as of recent: WJ (after 2 years of having B9TL's) have started to bring back these double decker runs for the past 2 months which is amazing. I am glad that these have returned as they not only provide nostalgia, but actually provide the capacity the route deserves and needs. I really wanted a South Harrow bound visual as I already did this route 2 years ago, but then it took me three attempts to do as I thought the buses subbed off but they didn't which was annoying - but it's well. I would like to thank the legendary W driver who was amazing and provided a great customer service, the route was a very peaceful and chill run. I was the only one on the top deck the whole time up until Northolt Park. The route should be permanently double decked with these B9TL's as they suit the route very well and better. It would make sense for that to happen when 83 gets its electroliners. The route actually terminates at the Bus Station, not the Station. Most drivers including H12 drivers make everyone get out on the stop before. I hope you enjoy this visual!
