Hello everyone, this is Taka-sim. This time, I'm sharing a city walk video of my stroll through Sagawa Town, Takaoka District, Kochi Prefecture. I visited National Route 33/Matsuyama Kaido, Sagawa Bypass, National Route 494, JR Dosan Line/Sagawa Station, Sake Brewery Road, Makino Tomitaro Hometown Museum, Sagawa Tourism Association (Passenger Car No. 481), Former Aoyama Bunko Library, Former Hamaguchi Family Residence, Meikyokan, Makino Park, Kasuga River, and more. "Ranman," the 108th NHK morning drama, began airing on April 3, 2023. Starring Kamiki Ryunosuke, the drama is based on the life of Kochi Prefecture-born botanist Makino Tomitaro. Set in the turbulent times from the Meiji to Showa eras, the series depicts the eventful life of the protagonist, Makino Mantaro, who is passionate about plants. Taka-sim's connection to Sagawa Town in Kochi Prefecture is due to the fact that Tomitaro Makino was born and raised there. The drama's "Kochi Chapter" is set in Sagawa Town, depicting the protagonist's childhood through adolescence. Sagawa Town is running a "Ranman" support project in honor of the drama, hosting events such as a botanical encyclopedia and a stamp rally.
