The Hard Part of Raising Meat
Meat has a cost. Most of us just don’t have to see it. I sold my first market lamb in fourth grade and sobbed. That moment never really left me. I still eat meat. I still raise animals. But I don’t want to be casual about what it costs. In this episode of No Signal, I observe a ranch butcher process a lamb and reflect on what it means to eat meat with more respect, less distance, and less waste. I’m not showing the kill. That’s not the point. The point is facing the reality behind the food we eat. Knowing the cost doesn’t make me want to eat more meat. It makes me want to waste less of it. New episodes every Tuesday. No Signal Life happens when you put the phone down. #NoSignal #FarmLife #KnowYourFood #MeatHasACost #MarketLamb
