Girish Chandra Ghosh (28 February, 1844 – 8 February, 1912) was a prominent Bengali composer, poet, playwright, novelist, theatre director and actor. Both of them are one of the leading figures of the Bengali Renaissance and the Hindu Renaissance of the 19th and 20th centuries. Ramakrishna Paramahansa was born in 1836 in Kamarpukur village in Arambagh subdivision of Hooghly district into a devout conservative Brahmin family. He was the fourth and last child of father Khudiram Chattopadhyay and mother Chandramani Devi. After taking the priesthood at Dakshineswar Kalibari, he began to worship Kali under the influence of Shaktism. Later, Ramakrishna attained Nirvikalpa Samadhi by practicing Advaita Vedanta. According to other religions, especially Islam and Christianity, his practice elevated him to the world of “as many as there is a way”.
