Südnorwegen – wo die Norweger Urlaub machen - Teil 1 unserer Reise

Norway – a dream destination for many. But where should you go? Most people immediately think of the North Cape and the Lofoten Islands. This time, we deliberately chose to avoid these tourist hotspots and instead head to where many Norwegians vacation – the south of the country. It's incredibly busy in the height of summer, but in May it's still peaceful and relaxed. So, for the first part of our trip, we explored the coastal region west of Kristiansand. Of course, you can quickly speed along the E39 from Kristiansand to Stavanger (230 km), but then you'll miss the narrow roads that wind along lakes and fjords, the lighthouses perched on cliffs right by the sea, and the beautiful beaches. And you'll miss the southernmost point of the mainland: Lindesnes Lighthouse. From here, it's over 2,500 km to the North Cape... The holiday homes, often built on tiny islands in the archipelago and accessible only by boat, are always interesting. There are also many small towns whose mostly white-painted wooden houses gleam in the sun and invite you to stroll around. We weren't always lucky with the weather, but that's to be expected in Norway. Weeks of sunshine are rather rare here. Our journey continued via Stavanger to the still snow-covered highlands, past fjords, lakes, and waterfalls. But more about that in the second part of our trip. ...
