Nebraska Gov. Pillen Responds to White House UFC Terror Plot | Omaha Man Arrested

Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen is speaking out after an Omaha man was arrested as an alleged ringleader in a foiled plot to attack the UFC event held on the White House South Lawn this past Sunday. Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez was taken into custody during a multi-agency raid at a church building he owns in Western, Nebraska — in Saline County. He faces federal charges of conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States and conspiracy to commit murder. If convicted on the murder conspiracy charge, Alvarez faces a possible life sentence and a $250,000 fine. He appeared before a federal judge via video conference Tuesday morning. According to court documents, the alleged plot involved drone-delivered explosives followed by shooting at survivors as they fled the scene. Investigators identified Alvarez while probing 19-year-old Tycen Proper of Ohio, who had allegedly been stockpiling weapons and communicating in a Signal chat group called "Hunters" and a TikTok group called "Vanguard of the Old." Alvarez allegedly went by the name "Shepherd" in those chats. Governor Pillen praised Nebraska law enforcement — including the FBI, Nebraska State Patrol, Douglas County, and OPD — for their role in the FBI-led operation. "A very, very bad guy settled in here and was going to do some horrific stuff — and our teams got it stopped," Pillen said. FBI Director Kash Patel says the bureau learned of the threat on June 10th — four days before the event. Five people total are now in custody across multiple states including Ohio, Missouri, California and Nebraska. The FBI Omaha field office confirms there is no continuing threat to the public.
