SKOPJE, North Macedonia | Matka Canyon and FREE Walking Tour!

Skopje has to be one of the most unique and unusual cities we have ever visited! On our first day in Skopje we took advantage of the FREE city walking tour. We think taking a walking tour is essential when first arriving in a new city. There is always so much to learn and you are immediately connected with a local who can usually give you some good advice for enjoying your trip. If you're in Skopje, you cannot miss a trip to Matka Canyon. This peaceful paradise is only a short 30 minutes bus ride outside of the city. The canyon offers many activities such as hiking trails, kayaking, and a boat ride to Europe's deepest underwater cave, Vrelo Cave. After a quick brunch at one of the restaurants on site, we opted for the serene boat ride and a tour of the cave for just $8 a person.
