The Fawning Response
The Fawning Response What is it? It’s when you say YES when you mean NO. When you can’t find your feelings, and look to others to make a decision. When you have poor boundaries - or lack them altogether. Does this sound like you? Fawning is one of the indicators of being stuck in a chronic stress response - it's a PROTECTION tactic, NOT a personality. Fawning is a sympathetic dominant strategy. Working on changing these strategies requires nervous system regulation tools, as taught in Level 1 of the Primal Trust™ mentorship. First, we need to become aware of our polyvagal state. We need to self-regulate. Then in Level 2, we go on to develop our Adult Main Personality (AMP) - because without this, you can't stop the fawning response as there is no healthy inner adult to take over from the part of you that is constantly yielding to others. If you recognise fawning as one of your own protection strategies, we'd love to welcome you to the Primal Trust mentorship, where we have a 3-step process with Level 1 - regulation of the nervous system, Level 2 - developing the inner adult and then finally Level 3, emerging as that self-confident, empowered, unapologetic self. Watch Dr. Cat speak about rewiring this fawning response and why it’s important for our healing. --- Instagram / primaltrust_official Facebook / primaltrust.drcat Website www.primaltrust.org --- Cathleen King, DPT is not acting as a physical therapist nor offering physical therapist services or advice on this video, this channel, on any public videos or on any other content.
