TEAC A2300SD repair/restore - part 2

So, any previous comments I made about this being a short project should be ignored! I'm starting out hoping to fix the record problem only to find that evidence of previous 'work' which was not done by a trained tech - that's putting it mildly. Some decent progress has been made and once some parts arrive in a few days work will resume....
