Electrolux Discovery II Upright Vacuum

Here I'm showing is one of my all time favorite Lux uprights. I got this 3 years ago from a pawn shop for about $20. It worked overall but all it needed was a spa, a bag, and a new brushroll. One mistake I did to this machine was I took off the bumper cause usually I take all the bumpers off when I wash the parts out. It was a struggle to put back on, I guess it was never intended to come apart in the first place. Other than that, it works really good. One of my criticisms with this machine other than the bumper thing is that the wheels barely move once it's in upright position. The springs don't like to stay in place as you see in the video twice. You have to manually unwind the cord. And for such an expensive machine, I wish there were more layers of filtration on this. You can now thankfully add more filtration to this if you wanted to but I wished back then that was the case for these. At least the current Lux uprights and the Lux clones definitely do have better filtration than these. Overall, I do like this machine. Build pretty solid, very reliable, does a good job cleaning carpets, I like the two motor design, and they have a pretty pleasant sound. But I could think of some other vacuums back then that I think would do a better job than this. Hope you enjoyed!
