Port Townsend Foundry Tour - Where parts for Tally Ho and Western Flyer were made.
Parts for Tally Ho and Western Flyer were made here along with other cast and machined parts for the marine industry that have gone all over the world and have withstood the test of time. Pete & Cathy Langley own this foundry and have been in operation since 1983. We were given complete and unfettered access to the operations here and had an in-depth conversation on the process of casting, finishing and machining and what it takes to run a small manufacturing business. Also included in this discussion is how his company supports employing and training the next generation so this small business and ones like it can be sustained into the future. Peter is always looking for mature, go getter young people that are interested in a technical trade job. If you are looking for a career and this looks interesting to you, reach out to them. Info is on their website. If you have a project and you need restoration parts made, contact them to explore how they can help you. Video recorded – Jan 2025 https://www.porttownsendfoundry.com/
