Suite rapide caténaires : le train-travaux à grande vitesse

Launched two years ago, the 25kV catenary rapid transit system now has a little brother: the 1500V catenary rapid transit system. Designed jointly by Colas Rail and TSO Caténaires, and built by manufacturers Novium and Geismar, this construction train enables the industrialization of the regeneration of catenary installations across the French network. And there's plenty of work to be done: with nearly 16,000 kilometers of track, including almost 6,000 in 1500V, and installations that are sometimes centuries old, the SNCF faces the risk of seeing its network collapse before it can be restored.
