I recently observed that while most Chinese DAC manufacturers are busy making their products compete with the competition in terms of measurement results, other companies are more focused on not only impressing engineers with their products, but also to create a sound that gives even the average Joe a unique and great listening experience. The perfectionism related to the measurement results has now progressed to the point where all the uniqueness is slowly being removed from these products and they all sound the same, with a few refreshing exceptions, such as the Gustard X18. Of course, the sound that comes out of them is not bad at all, but with a little exaggeration, if you've heard one, you've heard them all.
