Sand Mutants, Mad Max Cars And 6 More Metro Exodus Features You’ll Love

Metro Exodus’ desert level is our destination, with shiny new 4K Metro Exodus gameplay to show off the open world, sand mutants and vehicles straight out of Mad Max. Metro Exodus’ summer gameplay is looking swish - so here at 6 new Metro Exodus features we think you’ll love. Metro Exodus arrives on PC on 15 February - it’s so close. We’ll have a Metro Exodus review on the channel in time for release date, but for now you’ll have to settle for Metro Exodus impressions. We played five hours across three levels - summer, autumn and winter - each set in a different open world. Metro Exodus’ summer level is a vast desert where mutants burst out of the sand and gangs of raiders keep the locals enslaved as they bomb about in cars. It’s the first Metro Exodus level with a proper vehicle to drive - if you can steal the keys to one of the raider trucks that is. We’ve played nowhere enough to offer a full Metro Exodus review - keep an eye on Rock Paper Shotgun: The Site for that one - but we like what we’ve played. This is a really interesting take on open world shooting in that 4A Games are still delivering the level of detail and atmosphere of a more linear shooter, but with the freedom to go exploring and find your own path through the action. We were worried that the balance wasn’t going to work, but based on this new Metro Exodus PC gameplay, we think it’s working out. The game gives you the space to approach challenges your way, but hasn’t lost its grip on storytelling or the more scripted setpieces you might want. In this video we look at action set pieces, how flexible guns allows for flexible gunplay, how the level design supports a range of playstyles and why it’s okay for some good old fashioned corridors stuffed with monsters. In this Metro Exodus preview we show off gameplay from the summer stage, the winter level and Artyom’s autumn adventure. You’ll see how each has its own flavour of action and art and how this is adding up into a tasty mix of events. There’s also a terrible joke about I-Spy Mad Max, which Matthew apologises for.
