TRIBUN-TIMUR.COM, PINRANG - The 129th TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) program in Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi, was officially opened by the local government. This activity focuses on road infrastructure development to streamline agricultural production for the community. Representatives of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) were also present. Irwan Hamid expressed his high appreciation for the implementation of the TMMD program. He stated that this program directly addresses the primary needs of all levels of the Pinrang community. "I think this is a pretty good program, because it's directly related to the community," Irwan said after leading the TMMD ceremony to reporters, including Tribun-Timur.com, at the Cempa Dao Hamlet field in Tanra Tuo Village, Wednesday (July 15, 2026). This program is also considered to have a significant budget efficiency impact for the government. "With this TMMD, several of our production areas have been greatly assisted," he said. The road construction project is acknowledged to have saved regional funds amidst the current efficiency situation. "When we calculate this, it shouldn't be enough if only 1 billion rupiah is enough," he said. Collaboration with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has made the allocation of regional development funds much more economical and efficient. "But with the TMMD, we can finally maintain efficiency and ensure its implementation," Irwan added. The local community is reportedly very enthusiastic and actively participates in making the entire program a success. "Judging from this TMMD, community participation is quite high," said Irwan, looking dashing in his Komcad uniform. The community considers this road construction a real answer to their long-held aspirations. "Because they believe this is a program truly needed by the community," explained Irwan. The local government hopes similar programs can be implemented again in Pinrang in the coming years. "We hope, God willing, there will be more activities like this in the coming years," he said. The scope of the construction project is expected to be expanded further for more equitable public welfare. "But perhaps on a larger scale so that the coverage is much broader," Irwan hoped. The physical construction includes a 1.5-kilometer road, complete with on-site drainage. "This is an example of a 1.5-kilometer road with drainage added," explained Andi Irwan Hamid. This synergy cuts labor costs, thus maximizing regional budget savings. "That's already significantly helping the budget, because there are no more labor wages," he said. The smooth implementation of this physical program is inseparable from careful coordination with military personnel. "Because this is thanks to coordination and collaboration with our colleagues in the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI)," he emphasized. The regional government is fully committed to maintaining and preserving all completed infrastructure. "This is certainly the regional government's responsibility," Irwan said regarding the maintenance commitment. The sub-district and village governments will be actively involved in monitoring road conditions after the project handover. "This also applies to the areas within this region, sub-district heads, and villages," he explained. The community, as users of the food production line, is also asked to share responsibility for maintaining the facilities. "Of course, the community, because this is a production line, is very attentive and responsible," he said. Meanwhile, Brigadier General Andre Clift Rumbayan, Commander of the 141/Toddopuli Military Regional Command (Korem 141/Toddopuli), expressed his deep gratitude. Andre emphasized that the main goal of the TMMD is to strengthen the unity between the TNI and the Indonesian people. Cross-sector collaboration has been proven to strengthen national resilience and accelerate regional development. "With collaboration between the TNI and regional governments, our nation will be strong," he explained. Pinrang Regency was chosen as the target location because it has an urgent need for road access. "Pinrang was chosen because we saw a need," said the Commander of Military District 141/Toddopuli. This new 1.5-kilometer road is urgently needed as a transportation route for harvesting. "The community desperately needs this as a transportation route for transporting their harvest," he said.
